Ichigo-Ichie at the Counter
Kaiseki to Enjoy Casually
At our restaurant, we want kaiseki cuisine to feel closer and more approachable.
Rather than something formal or rigid, our hospitality is rooted in creating a relaxed space where guests can simply enjoy their time in comfort.
The Counter that Connects
Among all we value, the counter holds a special place.
A single slab of wood between guest and chef—it feels like a boundary, yet it allows both sides to naturally see each other’s expressions and movements.
As each dish is served, the distance between us narrows, and by the end of the meal, a shared sense of connection emerges. It is a true embodiment of ichigo-ichie—a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.
A Rare Ryujin Cedar Counter
Our counter is crafted from Ryujin-sugi, cedar grown deep in the mountains of Wakayama. This wood is extremely rare, and finding it as a single slab is even rarer.
We carefully selected the most stable part of the tree, known as masa, and shaped it into a counter from a single piece. The gentle character of cedar brings a natural warmth—something you can even feel when resting your hand upon it.
Delighting in the Counter Experience
At times, we recommend the counter even to guests who initially request a table. While some may feel a little nervous at first, they often leave with a smile, saying, “I’m glad we chose the counter.”
Moments like these remind us how meaningful this space truly is.
Hospitality in Every Detail
Kaiseki is not only about the food—it also embraces the vessels, the atmosphere, and even the very counter itself.
Through this Ryujin cedar counter, we hope to offer each guest a unique and memorable experience.
We warmly invite you to enjoy the special moments that can only be found across the counter. We look forward to welcoming you.
